Andrew Armatas was born and raised in Sydney, Australia.
He studied psychology and received his Master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Hartford (U.S). He received his second postgraduate degree in clinical hypnosis (applying hypnosis in psychotherapy and psychosomatic medicine) from the University of Sheffield, U.K.
Years of experience in EAP work (employee assistance programmes) and has liaised with international EAP companies to provide coaching, counselling and training services to client-companies. He co-developed and headed one of the first EAP companies in Greece and was one of the first psychologists to apply a goal-oriented, stress management group coaching programme for working women offered to companies enrolled in EQUAL, an EU co- funded programme. He currently heads a group of psychologists offering group stress management coaching services to company staff through EQUAL, in collaboration with KEK DIASTASI.
He was a CE lecturer at the Department of Continuing and Professional Studies at the American College of Greece (2003-2008) and has been in private practice in Athens since 2000, offering brief therapy, coaching and training services. He has experience in a variety of cultural settings – in Australia, in the U.S and in the U.K where he headed a counselling service for abused children in London and provided counselling & consulting to staff.
He has presented papers and workshops Nationally and Internationally and holds memberships to professional bodies such as: International Society of Hypnosis, British Society of Clinical and Academic Hypnosis, International Positive Psychology Association, European Network of Positive Psychologists, Employee Assistance Professionals Association – International, etc.
